Matthew has been in the hair industry since 2002. To date, Matthew's artistic skills and self motivation has led him to live out his dream as now the founder at Avenue145. With hard work and the passion for hairdressing Matthew graduated from the Putnam Northern Westchester Boces Cosmetology program after two years. While attending cosmetology school, Matthew worked for a local salon in Mount Kisco, New York, where he worked under many master stylists and colorists. After graduating his cosmetology program, Matthew had two options. One option was to become a full time stylist in Westchester, New York. Matthew had other plans. He chose a greater challenge that he felt was more rewarding. He decided to take an offer as a 5th Avenue stylist for Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon in Manhattan, New York, where he went through master stylist training. It was always one of Matthew’s dreams to be a master stylist in Manhattan, and that dream quickly became a reality. While working at Elizabeth Arden, Matthew’s skills grew exponentially. During part of his training, Matthew not only became a master stylist, he soon became a master at the art of balayage highlights, where his artistry truly blossomed. Matthews mens haircuts also separated him greatly. Taking ongoing education to keep up with the latest trends, Matthew worked with celebrity stylist, John Allan, mastering the art of haircutting and barbering combined. This gave Matthew the ability to create any look desired.
Once the New York City lifestyle became routine, Matthew turned back towards Westchester with another dream, a dream to one day open his own salon back in his home town. Matthew was offered a job at a trendy salon in Bedford, New York. There, he soon made a name for himself in the upscale area. Honing in on his skills, Matthew came into the salon as master stylist and worked for three years building a tremendous clientele. Continuing to build his clientele, Matthew worked in a high end salon in Mount Kisco, New York, for the next nine years. As Matthew's clientele grew so did his relationships. Matthew is now living out his biggest dream as the founder at, Avenue 145 in Mount Kisco, New York.
Matthew passionately puts his heart and soul into each and every client he sees. His upbeat personality, strong energy, and great vibe always makes his clients feel right at home. Matthew quotes, “We truly care about our clients happiness, and you will always leave us with a smile no matter what!” He continues, “Happiness is the most important thing in life, and our salon.”
Matthew specializes in trendy cuts and styles for men and women, as well as balayage highlights and color melting. He also has a high demand for the Brazilian/Keratin Treatment, which he does to perfection.
